Mike + Melanie: A Washington Oaks Spring Wedding

"I never knew
that I could love someone
the way that I love you..."

I'll be honest and share that I had been impatiently counting down the days until the arrival of this couple's precious wedding last spring. I had so much fun with Mike and Melanie during their engagement session a few weeks before the wedding, and from that time on I knew that their wedding was going to be just the most wonderful day ever. It was seriously the perfect way to start off my wedding season and I literally had to keep making sure I wasn't dreaming throughout it all. So often throughout the day I would look over at my second shooter, Jean, and we'd both have the "is this even real life?" expression on our faces because everything was just so beautiful, so genuine, and so romantically enchanting...words that perfectly describe Mike and Melanie (and the friends & family by their side that day!). Watching them become husband and wife had me on the verge of tears and then sharing in their celebration had me laughing and smiling until we finally left late that night. This gorgeous spring wedding at Washington Oaks Gardens is truly one of my favorite memories from this past year and getting to capture this darling couple become Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel was such a beautiful honor.
Oh that "we just got married" joy! :)
Mike and Melanie had me swooning during their entire wedding, but most definitely during their portraits. The lighting, the setting, and the deeply in love couple had me living in a dream for just a little while! <3

I had just the most amazing time with Mike, Melanie, and the precious friends and family that surrounded them on this gorgeous, fairytale kind of wedding day (every time I think about it, I just keep going back to how much fun it was!). Every moment of this day pointed to the glory and love of the Lord and the celebration of His gift of bringing Mike and Melanie together as husband and wife. I love watching them grow deeper in love with each other as the days go on and cherish that beautiful beginning of their story as Mr. & Mrs. Gabriel.
